About
The Foundation
Creating Adult Success.
Serving Human Need.
What began as two separate callings became one mission: helping people achieve successful adult lives while serving those facing immediate human need.
Our Organization
The Symbiotic Path Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity built on one simple belief: Creating Adult Success and Serving Human Need are two complementary paths that strengthen one another. Through innovative programs and compassionate community outreach, we empower individuals with disabilities while bringing hope and practical support to people and families experiencing hardship.
The Symbiotic Path Foundation is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Our Story
After spending more than 35 years helping students with disabilities prepare for adulthood, Bob Barrows began serving people experiencing homelessness in his local community.
What started as a simple effort to provide food, water, and encouragement quickly became something more. Through conversations in parks, on sidewalks, and in places often overlooked by society, he began to recognize a profound truth.
Many of the challenges he encountered on the streets were connected to the same unmet needs he had spent his career trying to address in schools.
Too many individuals living with disabilities never received the support, opportunities, relationships, and pathways necessary to achieve successful adult lives.
They were never two separate missions. They were one.
From that realization, the Symbiotic Path Foundation was born.
